The U.S. Postal Service is seeking a dedicated and reliable Mail Carrier to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of mail and packages to designated routes. This role requires strong customer service skills, as well as the ability to handle heavy lifting and operate various vehicles, including box trucks and vans. The Mail Carrier will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive their mail promptly and safely.
Duties
- Deliver mail and packages along assigned routes in a timely manner.
- Operate vehicles, including box trucks and vans, ensuring safe driving practices.
- Load and unload mail and packages from the vehicle.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing any inquiries or concerns from customers.
- Follow all safety protocols while driving and handling mail.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety.
- Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including sorting mail and organizing packages.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in route driving or as a delivery driver is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required for loading and unloading packages.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on professionalism.
- Experience operating manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations is advantageous.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while adhering to delivery schedules.
