The Rowing and Sailing Center of Hilton Head is designed for everyone to enjoy the water sports of rowing and sailing on the waterways around Hilton Head Island. Wind and human-powered boating provide unmatched pleasure for people of all ages, offered to the community and visitors of Hilton Head Island.
The Hilton Head Island Community Rowing and Sailing Center has partnered with the Island Recreation Association to establish and operate the center. This facility is available for rental. The Center is also home to some programs for Island Rec’s Seaside and Shore adventures.
The Rowing and Sailing Center at Squire Pope Community Park is off Squire Pope Road on the island’s north end. The park provides an access point to Skull Creek for non-motorized boats (i.e., kayaks and rowing shells).
The park features a fishing pier equipped with an ADA-accessible kayak launch, fire pit, playground, and restroom building. Picnic tables and grills are available in shaded areas and beneath the pavilion. An exhibit kiosk and public art mural highlighting the history of the Hilton Head Fishing Cooperative, which operated on this property from 1966 to 1978, are also featured in the park.
