The nationally broadcasted Today Show by NBC covers the dedication of a sea turtle nest on Hilton Head to Craig Melvin’s family. A mama loggerhead just laid 138 eggs in the Sea Pines area and the eggs should hatch in about two months. Craig Melvin is one of the anchors of the Today Show, and a yearly visitor to the Island.
Sea Turtles are an endangered species and can only be handled and protected by the Hilton Head Island Sea Turtle Patrol run by Marine biologist Amber Kuehn and her staff.
