Public Bike Pathways

Save to itinerary on this device:

Hilton Head Island offers 64 miles of public pathways and nature trails for the enjoyment of pedestrians and cyclists. At low tide, ride the beach for 12 miles. Public beaches can be accessed via the beach parks highlighted on the pathway map.

Check out our pathways maps to navigate around the island. In addition, there are more than 50 miles of pedestrian, bicycle pathways and shared roadways within private developments for the use of the residents and guests within their communities.

Biking is a great way to get around and keep healthy, but it’s important to be safe. Since most pathways are NOT illuminated, bicycles must have a red rear reflector and a headlight for biking at night.

Class 1 & 2 electric bikes are allowed under South Carolina law, as are electric powered wheelchairs. Other motor vehicles, Golf Carts, Class 3 Electric Bicycles, and other small motorized vehicles are NOT allowed on Bike paths.
